We have not paddled the Newtonmore to Kingussie section for ages and it really is a lovely section. We left the van at the Bridge Inn, biked home then trolleyed the canoes to the Spey. We usually put on at the Newtonmore Bridge but decided to check out a point just below this at the end of a footpath. It was fine. A perfect day for being on the water, lots of birdlife, even cattle were to be found with their feet in the water.

Activities for Birthday treat
Yesterday we were guiding on Ben Nevis, then today we ran some activities for a 9th birthday. Indoor Climbing followed by Archery and Rocket launching, and it was all brilliant fun! The four boys were really excited and enthusiastic about their day.

Another fun few days
It was the Shared Lives weekend at Glenmore Lodge last weekend. We work with them on the Saturday running Rafted Canoeing, Archery, Indoor Climbing, Fun Session and Orienteering, always a lovely group of people to be with and they love being out there doing stuff with their friends! On Tuesday we took an American family group for a gentle Stroll/Orienteer around Glenmore forest followed by some Archery. Then Wednesday we were with the admin team from Scottish Gymnastics, biking with Pete, Archery with me and Canoeing with Ian. A really pleasant few days for us!

Active week
The past week we have had different groups taking part in a variety of activities. Local kids Den Building and Indoor Climbing, Key Housing doing Orienteering, Archery and Rafted Canoeing, mostly in the rain! Crossreach came out for some Orienteering in the Forest too and we will be going Rafted Canoeing with them on Monday. We were also on the Spey with Reach 4 Reality, Kingussie to Loch Insh. Today we checked out the Spey from Laggan to Newtonmore as we have not paddled this section for a couple of years. The top part is getting quite overgrown but it is a very pleasant section with lots of birdlife to watch out for.
