Loch Insh with the Ladies

We made a 3 boat raft to take our lovely ladies out for a paddle on Loch Insh. We made fast progress to the other end of the Loch and well up the Spey before deciding to turn round and have a hard paddle back against a good Force 4. It was great fun and we were all kept motivated by all the singing, how they had the energy to sing and paddle we don't know!

More schools and nice ladies

Last week we had another couple of days with Skillsforce, the last day in particular being great for me and James on Indoor Climbing, all the groups were brilliant. Ian and Sylvia were with Anderson High on tuesday, most of the students we had met before so it was good to catch up. On Friday, Judes ladies joined Ian for some canoeing on Loch Morlich, the weather was superb again and it looked like they all had a great time. Saturday we were biking and canoeing with Cradlehall Guides. We managed to creep up on a red throated diver and have a sail back. Another lovely day.

Busy with schools

Last week we were busy with Milnes and Skillsforce groups doing Indoor Climbing, Rafted Canoeing and Biking as well as an evening session of Archery with some very nice primary children. Weather could have been better! Yesterday, Ian, Martin and Charlie ran Rafted Canoeing and Team Games with Star Youth Club whilst I took a group of teachers from Fortrose Academy on the Spey from Loch Insh to Aviemore. Good weather for a change!

Canoeing and Weaselling

On Saturday I met up with No Limits for some Rafted Canoeing on Loch Morlich, quite windy but a nice day. Always fun to catch up with these guys and have a gossip. On sunday we went to Loch Duntelchaig for Abseiling and Weaselling with a band of intrepid 'Active Kids'. It was cold and very windy but the rain held off until we started weaselling when it did not matter. It was a great day and much fun was had by all. Anne thought it all totally ridiculous but she loved every minute even when confronted by tiny gaps which she did not think it possible to go through!

Bit of a mix

On Tuesday I met up with Paula and Connie at Glenmore Lodge for a 3 hour session of Archery. They have an Archery club in the Falklands but wanted a bit of help to straighten out their technique. We spent the morning working on Barebow, which they quickly got sorted and then it was just a case of tweaking. On Wednesday, Ian and myself were Indoor Climbing with a super group from Alltnacriche, they were excellent at listening and getting on with what they were asked to do. In the afternoon, I introduced Paula and Connie to the Freestyle technique of Archery, which again proved to be a really successful 3 hour session. They just need to keep practising now! On Thursday we were both working at Loch Morlich Watersports and the weather was pretty awful, much more like November. Admin and sorting kit today before meeting up with No Limits tomorrow for some Rafted Canoeing

All canoeing

On Thursday, Park School did Archery and Rafted Canoeing still enjoying fine weather too. Saturday we were on Loch Insh, Ian coaching paddle skills to a group of girl guides to help them prepare for their Bronze DofE Canoe Expedition whilst I was on a practise Bronze DofE canoe expedition with 4 girls from Mary Erskine School. It was a good day for all of us, a bit chilly and with a bit of a headwind to contend with on the way back.

Lovely weather!

Yesterday we were with Badcaul Primary all day doing Rafted Canoeing, Archery and Problem solving. It was a lovely day, the children really enjoyed what they were doing and were so enthusiastic about everything. Today we were walking with a group from Park School. We all went to Ryvoan bothy, then some went on to Meall a Bhuachaille with Ian whilst I went to loch Morlich with the rest of them. Another great day!
