We had a few days at Loch Insh last week then spent most of Friday working out the best route for a team of folk from the BBC to climb as a bit of a challenge but it also had to be good for the cameraman. We rigged The Groove for climbing and The Edge for the cameraman. Luckily two cameramen ie David and Josh came out to have a look late on Friday and we were able to have David abseiling and checking out the best positions for him to be able to film the climbers from. The weather was pretty perfect on Saturday when the group arrived to do the climbing and it was the perfect route with just the right amount of challenge. They found it to be a great location for other things they were getting their presenters to do too, so a great day for us all.

With friends
John was up this week for a couple of days so we went for a wander up Geal Charn at Drumochter where the views were superb. We then had some time on the Indoor wall at Glenmore Lodge as Nabeel and Elizabeth were up for a holiday. Nabeel likes his 3 sessions with us whilst Elizabeth declined this time.

Archery at the Hunting Lodge
Nigel, Jan, Helen and Chris have been staying at a superb Lodge near Kingussie. They have had a couple of great days skiing. Nigel and Chris have had a good day on the hill too but unfortunately on Thursday the weather was just too bad for their attempt on Cairngorm and Ben Macdui so we had a fun session of Archery for all the family in the grounds of the Lodge instead. We were quite sheltered from the worst of the weather although it did get chilly and eventually rain stopped play. They were all quite addicted and were keen to compete against each other. I hope Chris and Helen did do the washing up!!

Creag Dubh Newtonmore
Always one of our favourite hills, even better when the weather is not so good. It is an interesting snow pack this year and layers were sliding with minimal effort in places when we started digging to see waht was happening.

Archery
We had a lovely group doing Archery yesterday afternoon in Glenmore Forest. It was cold but dry and they were really keen to shoot. Close run thing when we came to a bit of competition too!

Shared Lives
Over the past couple of weeks we have had good days running activities such as canoeing and indoor climbing with a variety of folk as well as doing some work at home. This Saturday we were at Dufftown for a day of fun with a Shared lives group from Aberdeen. We have known many of these people for at least 3 years now and every time it is like meeting up with old friends. We always have a morning of Fun, followed by an afternoon of Archery. They do other stuff too. The weather was fine for the morning but even the heavy rain and cold wind in the afternoon did not stop them. This time we included an 'egg drop' where each group had to make something to keep an egg safe as it was dropped from a height.
